Spirit Of Slumber

Do you ever wonder why, when you are trying to tell someone about something in the Bible that you are either ignored or the person doesn't seem to understand what you are talking about?

You have studied God's Word long enough to know what you are talking about and you back up what you are saying with the Bible..
What you have learned is very clear to you. Why can't others understand what seems so simple to you?

Let's look at Romans and see what Paul says about this problem..

Rom 11:1
I ASK then: Has God totally rejected {and} disowned His people? Of course not! Why, I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin! [I Sam. 12:22; Jer. 31:37; 33:24-26; Phil. 3:5.]

God hasn't forsaken anyone!
His plan of salvation is now open to everyone, including the Gentiles..

Rom 11:2
No, God has not rejected {and} disowned His people [whose destiny] He had marked out {and} appointed {and} foreknown from the beginning. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?

Elijah had some very low points in his life, but God always provided for him..
Was Elijah special? No, but he understood prophecy.
That is why it is so important for one to have eyes to see and ears to hear.

Rom 11:4
But what is God's reply to him? I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal! [I Kings 19:18.]

These seven thousand will not worship the Antichrist (Satan)
when he comes pretending to be Christ who has come to "Rapture people away..
Why? Because they understand the Key Of David

Rom 11:5
So too at the present time there is a remnant (a small believing minority), selected (chosen) by grace (by God's unmerited favor and graciousness).

In the time of Paul there ws a remnant, and there is a remnant today
who have studied and learned the truth of God's Word...
They understand God's overall plan and pass this information down
from generation to generation..

Rom 11:6
But if it is by grace (His unmerited favor and graciousness), it is no longer conditioned on works or anything men have done. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace
[it would be meaningless].
11:7 What then [shall we conclude]? Israel failed to obtain what it sought
[God's favor by obedience to the Law].
Only the elect (those chosen few) obtained it,
while the rest of them became callously indifferent
(blinded, hardened, and made insensible to it).

Here we find the "Elect" mentioned.. Who are the Elect?
They are the ones who have studied, learned and understand the
Key Of David..
But now we are getting to the reason why many don't understand
what they are told about the Bible.. Because many people have been blinded..

Ro:11:8:
(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

Here is a special message for us.. The word "Slumber" is "katanuxis" (kat-an'-oox-is), and it means a prickling sensation, as if the limbs were asleep. That is the spirit God has given the minds of some.. This is the reason that some have no idea what you are talking about,
even though you explain it in detail..

But don't dispair..when they can't understand you.. Their minds are asleep but they will awaken when they hear the Holy Spirit speaking through the Elect when they are delivered up before the Antichrist.. Why would God put a stupor on some..? It could be to protect them If they knew the truth and still worshiped the antichrist, that would be the unforgivable sin..

So don't get too disappointed when you can't get God's message across to some..
He is in control and will do all things in His own time..

Just don't quit trying.. We are to watch and plant seeds..
Some will take root and others will seem not to..
Only God can make them grow.
He expects us to do our part and he will bless us for our efforts..
That is the way He is..

Remember, He is with us every day that ends with Y..
